My name is Kelsey Vitullo, and I'm a Fashion and Interior Designer with over 19 years of experience leading apparel design teams for both legacy and startup brands.  I bring a unique perspective to both apparel and interior design—one that is deeply rooted in understanding customer/ client needs through research and trend prediction. My approach blends problem-solving with a customer-centric mindset and trend forecasting to provide a commitment to creating functional garments and spaces that truly reflect their individualities.  I recently earned a Master of Fashion Industry Studies (M.F.I.S) degree from Kent State University, with a focus on UX Design, further deepening my expertise in integrating technology with design thinking and research to enhance consumer experiences and the design processes.

I’ve  called Columbus, Ohio, home for nearly 20 years, balancing an active lifestyle as an outdoor enthusiast, sports fanatic, wife, sister, and mom to two very active kids.

I currently lead the apparel  design categories for Denim & Outerwear for Lane Bryant, bringing fit solutions and beautifully designed product to the plus size market consumer.

At KP Design Group, as an Interior Designer, I was passionate about assisting clients in solving challenges through thoughtful design, transforming their spaces into homes that reflect their individuality and nurture their lifestyles. My approach is rooted in biophilic design and a deep connection to nature, blending mid-century modern, transitional, and cozy elements into a carefully curated eclectic aesthetic. Functionality is at the core of my work, ensuring that each space supports a vibrant, fulfilling life while feeling inviting and inspiring.

I believe everyone has a spark of creativity—some naturally express it, while others may need guidance to bring it to life. My goal is to help every client uncover and celebrate their unique style, crafting homes where they feel their best, surrounded by thoughtful design that balances beauty, practicality, and personal connection.

Before returning to interior design, I massively grew and honed my skills in the apparel industry, where I launched and led  the UpWest design team , a true start-up brand, under the legacy brand EXPRESS, achieving $50 million in sales within its first four years. This experience taught me the power of creating meaningful connections through design. I collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop seasonal concepts and trend-forward collections, integrating sustainable materials and ethical production practices to align with consumer values. My focus extended beyond clothing, leveraging new UX design skills using digital tools to elevate the customer experience while focusing on team growth and leadership.

My career began at Abercrombie & Fitch, where I advanced from intern to Senior Designer, leading collections for men’s and boys’ categories. I gained additional experience at Ascena Brands, focusing on kids' apparel within the Brothers and Justice Brands, then later at HOMAGE, where I applied my expertise across licensed sportswear apparel for men’s, women’s, kids', and baby collections. My design philosophy has always centered on storytelling and fostering connections through purposeful, consumer-driven strategies.

I am also deeply committed to leadership, mentorship, and fostering inclusive, collaborative environments. Whether designing a home or leading a team, my goal is to empower others, nurture creativity, and ensure every project is a success.

From apparel to interiors, my work has always been about connecting design to the needs of the people it serves—creating spaces and products that not only function beautifully but also tell meaningful stories.
